Merlot for PeanutsRio Rica Merlot 2022 13%
A proper Chilean Merlot at a frankly suspicious price. Soft, fruity and wonderfully easy-going, with plenty of juicy red and dark fruit. The sort of red you open while cooking, pour another with dinner, then notice there's mysteriously not enough left for tomorrow.
Why is it a Bargain?
A whopping great clearance parcel wandered into TBBS costing less than some pubs charge for half a glass. We bought first and asked sensible questions later.

🍷 Serving Suggestion
Room temperature-ish, not “I've kept it next to the radiator since Christmas” temperature. Open, pour generously and allow Tuesday to improve considerably.
🍽️ Food Pairing
Burgers, steak, chilli, pizza, roast meats, mature cheese or an entire packet of posh crisps masquerading as dinner
If This Drink Were Famous…
Pedro Pascal
Chilean-born, enormously popular and considerably more expensive to book than this Merlot. Zero connection to the wine, but if he turned up for dinner we'd probably open two bottles.
